People who wish to avail of the domestic travel insurance should check out the various insurance companies listed online and purchase directly from any one of them as the savings will be considerable on the premium.
The types of insurance available depend on your need. You may be travelling on a single trip or you may be a frequent traveler who is employed by a company to travel interstate in Australia. The rate of premium charges differs from a single insurance, domestic annual trip insurance, or multi trip insurance. If you are travelling interstate, the premium will be lower are the insurance company will not have to pay exorbitant amounts of money as necessary if you had to travel abroad to countries such as the United States of America where the medical costs are very high.

Nowadays, many people opt to fly rather than take other modes of transport and due to this the air flights are not as expensive. This has resulted in discounted insurance for domestic travel as the volume of travelers is great and there is a high demand for this type of policy. Insurance companies are therefore able to offer reduced premium costs to travelers on a budget.

People who used to travel on domestic flights earlier did not consider travelling by air high risk and therefore did not find it necessary to take a domestic insurance policy because of the high premium rates involved. Since the costs of these insurance policies are relatively low today, it is recommended that people take policies to cover incidences such as accidents, illness, loss of income and so on. It is an easy process which does not take much time. The option is available to take a basic cover policy or a comprehensive one which covers a wide range of activities apart from hospital and medical costs.

Families or a single member can opt for online domestic insurance. Some companies offer insurance covers to elderly people and those who suffer from pre-existing conditions though they may have to pay a higher rate of premium since the risk factor is higher.

Look at the options available. Though there are cheap policies available for insuring oneself, it is advisable to check the types of coverage for the price and not only look at the cost. If you take a basic policy, it will not cover as many activities as a comprehensive policy. Consider the add-on option when you plan to take insurance. This is advantageous as you can always call the travel insurance company and add an extra activity if you are planning a special trip. For example you may wish to go skiing so that you can protect yourself before you undertake hitting the slopes.

Etiquette matters, so does the political make-up and geographical boundaries of wherever you are in the world. So it makes sense, prior to any trip in which your goal is to either clinch an economic deal or forge better relations with international colleagues, to brush up on a few pointers such as:

Culture
Regardless of whether your French business meeting is in the city or provinces, or the north or south of the country, there are certain ‘rules’ you should certainly acknowledge.

For instance, it’s the norm to address business acquaintances with either Madame, Monsieur, Professeur or Docteur, then their surname followed by a firm handshake. Make sure you only use the friendly and informal ‘tu’ when the other person you’re meeting with does so.

Expect plenty of small talk and for the initial meeting to be help in a restaurant or chic café. Incidentally, the person who organised the meeting will also expect to pay the bill.

Following your meeting you should formally bid each person farewell individually with a kiss on the cheek.
Your attire should be formal. If you’re going to speak French in your meeting then do so throughout. The French regard it as impolite – and no doubt confusing – to switch between their language and another.

Accommodation
If you’re not staying at your business colleague’s family home (which is doubtful as the French like to keep business and family life separate) then it’s a good idea to book into a hotel which has the facilities to cater fully for the businessman/woman such as the Holiday Inn (these as scattered throughout France in most major cities or airports). This way you will be guaranteed an internet connection, access to a scanner and even the use of a boardroom (salle de reunion) if need be.

Smaller B & B facilities made be comfortable but they can’t always guarantee Wi-Fi or even computer access and no-one wants to go trailing around looking for an internet café late at night in a foreign city.

Climate
Depending on where and when you’re conducting your business, the weather in France can vary enormously. In the South in the summer it’s advisable to take lighter cotton suits and skirts with temperatures regularly reaching as high as the nineties and humidity a fact of life. In cities there tends to be more air-conditioning around. The rainy season in France tends to be between November and April.

We hope the above helped. Meanwhile here’s a few more interesting quasi-business facts about France:

The most dominant religion by far is catholic (up to 88 per cent), next is Muslim (around 10 per cent) followed by Protestant (two per cent)

In terms of economy, France is the fifth largest – following on from America, Japan, Germany and China

Paris is the world’s leading conference centre

France joined the Euro in January 1999 and has a close business relationship with Germany

In 2004 a national survey showed 6.2 per cent of France’s population was below the poverty line

France’s trading partners in the main tend to be Germany, Spain, Italy, UK and America

Before the Wright Brothers invented the airplane, people had to use slow modes of transport like trains, ships and busses to reach far flung destinations. Their journeys could take days, weeks or months, making every journey expensive, time-consuming and sometimes perilous. And yet there was no alternative, as until that time, only birds could fly. But ever since Kitty Hawk saw the Wright Brothers’ early attempts at flight, mankind could finally soar to the skies.

People were no longer limited to traveling on the ground or on water. They could now board an airplane and reach their destination within the same day. This mode of transport gave travelers an unparalleled amount of facilities never before offered by any other means of transport.

There was only one major hitch in flying. The fares were quite expensive. During the early days of air travel, only royalty, businessmen and woman, and the rich and famous could fly. The rest of the people had to stay on the ground as the privileged few took to the air.

But soon, the cost of air tickets began to become affordable. Most airlines knew that they could not operate their flights if more people did not travel in their airplanes. In order to make that possible, they had to reduce their fares. And when they did, people began to resort to air travel as their preferred mode of transport.

Families started going for vacations in airplanes. Businessmen started using air travel for most of their business trips. What began as a mode of transport for the elite, became a regular feature for common folk.

Domestic flights began to be filled with all kinds of people from different backgrounds. After all, flights were not as expensive as they once used to be. Everyone could now afford to travel, at least over short distances. Airlines began offering all kinds of incentives to make people board their airplanes. Frequent flyer programs, loyalty schemes and a number of different innovative ideas were used to lure passengers to opt for air travel over other modes of transport.

The efforts proved so successful that today, air travel has become the most preferred way of travel. When people think about travel, the first mode of transport that comes to their mind is the airplane. It is quick, comfortable, and most of all, affordable.

The affordability of air travel is perhaps the greatest reason why domestic flights began to see a large amount of patronage. You can get information on cheap flights from informative websites on the Internet that provide listings of low cost airlines. You can choose the airline of your choice and directly book your tickets online through one of these sites using your credit card.

Canada’s second biggest province is said by many to be its most beautiful. With a population of 12 million spread over more than one million square kilometres there is boundless open spaces, including an incredible 250,000 lakes (one third of the world’s fresh water) a virtually untouched wilderness. This unspoilt natural environment is contrasted by Ontario being the home to Canada’s capital, Ottawa as well as its largest city, Toronto.

What to do…
Over 12 million visitors per year experience one of nature’s greatest spectacles, Niagara Falls and many adventurous spirits taste the thrill of white water rafting in the rivers of the surrounding region. Polar bears, otters, moose and wolves can be seen in the Arctic circle or spend time with indigenous Inuit people in Northern Ontario – who can take travellers sledging and fishing in the protected ancestral grounds. To the east of the province lays the astonishingly beautiful 1,000 islands where kayaking and cruising through the amazing lakes will provide memories to last a lifetime. The centre of Ontario is vast woodland with hiking, canoeing, climbing and caving all popular adventure sports.

Where to eat…
Ontario restaurants are at their most diverse and sophisticated in the largest city, Toronto. Outstanding establishments in Toronto include the hearty Kit Kat Bar and Grill, the Queen East Strip’s Joy Bistro, King West’s Crush Wine Bar and the internationally renowned Hilton Toronto. One of North America’s most iconic buildings, the CN Tower houses the world-famous revolving, 360 Restaurant, which offers the most outstanding views of the city possible alongside its impressive fine dining menu with an excellent selection of wines. Outside the Toronto smaller cities generally have a good selection of reasonably priced North American as well as Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Indian and French restaurants.

Where to stay…
Accommodation in Ontario for most visitors starts and ends with Toronto. From $15 per person per night travellers can stay in shared accommodation in a backpacker hostel such as Hi-Toronto, Backpackers on Dundas and College Hostel. Mid-range options include staples like the Marriott and Holiday Inn as well as friendly B&B’s like Pimblett’s. High class hotels such as the four star Drake and Gladstone will cater for visitors in luxury style. Outside the major cities it is possible to stay in Inuit villages, Bear watching lodges in the far north, log cabins on the lakeside, self-catering cottage rentals, riverside fishing huts or simply camp anywhere in the wilderness of this huge and captivating Canadian province.

5. Healesville Sanctuary

Not far from Melbourne is Healesville Sanctuary, also known as the Sir Colin Mackenzie Sanctuary, named after its founder. Located in the Yarra Valley region, this sanctuary is Australia’s leading wildlife park. You’ll see emus, platypus, kangaroos, koalas, Tasmanian devils, and more, all in their natural habitats. Rugged beauty surrounds you as you get up close and personal with more than 200 species of Australian wildlife. It’s an experience you’ll never forget. Healesville Sanctuary is just an hour north of Melbourne, so it’s perfect for a day trip.

4. Yarra Valley Vineyards

While you’re in the Yarra Valley area, there are a number of other attractions to visit, including more than 70 wineries. This region is the birthplace of Australian wines, home to world renown winemakers and tiny, hidden gem wineries. Cruise the beautiful countryside, savor the heady vintages, and enjoy a delectable meal prepared by a top chef at one of the wine restaurants. A perfect way to spend the day.

3. Philip Island

Now turn your car to the southeast and travel about 140 kilometers from Melbourne to Philip Island. Here you’ll find an array of activities that are bound to keep the entire family happy. The most famous attraction is the Parade of the Fairy Penguins, but there are also dozens of other activities you won’t want to miss, including a visit to Seals Rock, the Koala Conservation Center, and more.

4. St. Kilda

This colorful inner city suburb of Melbourne is rich with history and offers a bevy of attractions. It gracefully blends a unique artist culture, beautiful parks and gardens, theatres, shopping, and, of course, magnificent St. Kilda beach where water sports abound.

1. Great Ocean Road

Just 243 kilometers from Melbourne is one of the most spectacular scenic ocean routes in the world, the Great Ocean Road. The views are stunning, the rainforests lush, and the beaches are breathtakingly beautiful. You’ll see sites like the famed 12 Apostles rock formations and cruise through the Great Otway National Park. You really need to dedicate more than one day to this fascinating journey, so arrange a short-term car rental that allows you enough time to truly enjoy this adventure.

Want to know a way to save some money on this vacation of a lifetime? Instead of renting a car from traditional sources, try peer-to-peer car rental. You could save up to 60% and drive any kind of car you want as you enjoy the wonders of Melbourne and the glorious region it rules.

If so, there are several vibrant cities throughout the country that will leave you spoiled for choice. Many Glasgow hotels are situated in the heart of the city centre, allowing you to explore some of the memorable attractions that this historical location has to offer. Additionally, with great rail links to other Scottish hotspots such as Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Paisley and East Kilbride, broadening your horizons and travelling around Scotland could be a lot cheaper than you would think.

Within Glasgow itself, there are numerous points of interest to stimulate the mind and offer great days out. For art aficionados, a visit to the Gallery of Modern Art comes well-recommended, offering a sophisticated and contemporary perspective on the culture of the 21st century. Throughout the year, the gallery’s exhibitions encapsulate Scottish tradition while remaining true to the international art scene, and one example is the collection of artwork called Hertie Querty, words which in Old Scots means ‘full of fun’, ‘mischievous’ and ‘in good spirits’. If you want to get a feel for Glasgow and feed your passion for fine art simultaneously, the abstract and obscure offerings from the GoMA won’t disappoint.

The Gallery of Modern Art also shares its building with the city centre library, an architectural masterpiece that is steeped in heritage. Before its transformation into a hub for cultural exploration and learning, this building within the heart of Glasgow was used for business, finance and exchanging information. Should you visit the gallery or the library at its iconic location, you will appreciate how the gallery has continued the philosophy of exchanging information for locals and tourists alike.

The accommodation in Glasgow represents some of the finest UK hotels on offer, with spacious rooms and apartments available in abundance, perfect for tourists who love to immerse themselves in city life. Staying in this Scottish city brings the opportunity to experience hotels in brand new ways, with some of the largest international hoteliers offering designer accommodation with luxurious amenities. Whether you are excited tourists who are eagerly planning their visit to Scottish landmarks, or a hurried business traveller who wants a hotel that offers comfort and professional facilities such as a business centre, the perfect venue for you isn’t too hard to find once you look online.

hotels in Edinburgh by HotelClub can be equally extravagant, unearthing a whole new world of opportunities and potential. Whether you are looking to push the boat out with several nights in a five star hotel, or would prefer to select a hotel with basic amenities and a budget price tag, looking for accommodation on a comprehensive and efficient website will save you time and money. Who knows, it could also empower you to get a bigger, better and more luxurious room with your modest budget thanks to the hefty discounts that can be found online.

Why, though, should you choose to stay in Edinburgh instead of Glasgow or Aberdeen? In short, it is the festivals and attractions that may swing it for those who love comedy, fine cuisine, history and culture. It’s been said before that the capital of Scotland boasts many different facets, with the 900-year-old Old Town and the Georgian, 18th century New Town coalescing wonderfully to offer a city with variety, authenticity and character. Even though there are crumbling castles and old ruins to keep historians and traditionalists satisfied, the exciting new additions to Old Town such as the modern Scottish Parliament building, shows how this part of the city is still as relevant and up-to-date as it was before.

One thing that’s essential for anyone to do in Edinburgh is to sample some traditional Scottish delicacies; the luxurious products that have put this country on the map. There are some fantastic restaurants that whip up local produce into sumptuous three-course meals, and the chance to savour a dram of whisky afterwards on a leather armchair in front of a roaring log fire is an alluring opportunity. If you want to relax, unwind and feel content on your getaway to Scotland, Edinburgh has all of the necessary ingredients to make it an adventurous, romantic or laid-back trip.

It would be an insult not to mention the Fringe Festival, which allows an explosion of creativity to flood through Edinburgh’s streets every summer. If you love watching TV panel shows and stand-up comedians, it’s worthwhile noting that many of the most talented comedians in the country will have been discovered at this annual event. Whether you enjoy listening to unsigned talent, the fresh content of undiscovered comedians, or the emotion seen in musicals and opera, this festival is where the arts come together in an eclectic mix that’s fun and exciting for performers and spectators alike.

It’s the little things that will make your Scottish getaway memorable, such as the sheer shock when you’re in Edinburgh Castle and the field gun explodes spontaneously at 13:00; the chance to truly appreciate the different types of tartan at a quaint and charismatic weaving company; watching your children become engrossed in the Scottish Storytelling Centre as vivid fictional tales come alive and creeping around the city metres underground in an area that was once cordoned off because of the plague outbreak. As you can see, this city is more than a place where you can book a hotel, wander around during the day and have a great meal during the evening; it’s somewhere to create memories with the people you love.

Cheap hotels are not difficult to find here, and the Internet has made the task of finding accommodation infinitely easier. By doing your research and planning in advance, you and your party will have the holiday you deserve. Why not treat yourself to a stay in an award-winning boutique hotel? Alternatively, why not go for an apartment with striking panoramic views over the city? The choice is yours.

New Zealand is a dream location and definitely one of the places where most people in the world would like to go very much. New Zealand is considered an amazing place because of the sharp contrasts that especially its landscape offers. In the southern half the temperature is colder and more alpine, whereas the northern half is almost tropical with volcanoes.

The key to backpacking New Zealand is to take the time to see everything. It really doesn’t matter if you’re not going to have time to see all the things on your list, what matters more is that you take the time to appreciate all the beauty in the things you will be seeing.

New Zealand has a lot to offer for any backpacker, but one of the best places to go is Queenstown. The reason is simple – the landscape is the most iconic of New Zealand. The town is nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, high up in a mountain valley which is considered New Zealand’s premier four season lake and alpine resort.

The four seasons…

All four seasons are busy tourist times for Queenstown. The best time to go skiing is in the spring, which is from September to November in the southern hemisphere. The temperatures range from 48F to 75F and the weather is very sunny and beautiful most of the time. These days are perfect for skiing. Sometimes the season can last well into October as well.

More Queenstown travel tips include the possibility of going in the summer months, from October to February, or even March. The summer opportunities are endless, with mountain biking, golf, hiking and boating and waterskiing on the lake. The rugged terrain all around Queenstown is one you will never forget

There is of course skiing throughout the winter and if the snow comes early then in late fall as well. Fall is the time for barbecues, hiking to see the foliage and other relaxing activities.

Where to eat

Queenstown has over 150 restaurants, bars and cafes. Furthermore, the local vineyards keep these establishments well stocked with the best quality wines. You can even go to many of these wineries as they are mostly fitted out as small private restaurants serving the best local food and drinks conveniently in one place. A great travel tip for tourists is to take home one of these special bottles of wine for a special occasion later, such as a wedding or a baby shower.

Finally, Queenstown also offers luxury spa resorts with natural springs, saunas and other useful natural formations in this volcanic area. Queenstown is also one of the shopping capitals of New Zealand so you should have no trouble finding any souvenir or memento.

Tired of staring at glossy brochures listing holidays that you know you simply can’t afford? Desperate to get away for a few weeks in the sun? Well there is another way. Thousands of holiday makers every year are looking to the budget end of the travel market to find their well earned annual break. The internet is a great place to start looking for these realistically priced holidays which can be built to suit your own needs.

The best deals are normally to be found at the more popular resorts and the island of Tenerife is an excellent destination for a budget holiday. Cheap holidays to Tenerife are out there, you just need to know where to look.

First thing; getting there. The internet is full of flight offers and cheap flights to Tenerife are not too difficult to come by. The main charter airlines all fly here as do most of the budget airlines although there are one or two exceptions. The best way in which to find your cheap flights to Tenerife is to use a flight search company. This way you can price the flight from your local airport.

Bear in mind the cheapest flights will normally be out of a major airport such as Gatwick or Manchester, but even allowing for travel, this can still be a better budget option than a local airport. Tenerife has two major airports, Reine Sofia in the South and Los Rodeos in the North, so make sure that the flight you are booking is not going to land at the opposite end of the island to your chosen hotel.

Flight found, you now have to get to your destination. Again the internet is full of websites offering resort transfers. These can be obtained quite cheaply if booked well enough in advance. If you do your homework before you fly you will have a good idea as to taxi prices and transfer alternatives, having found your cheap flights to Tenerife you don’t want to ruin your budget with an expensive transfer. One thing to bear in mind is that although a multi drop coach transfer may seem reasonable, you could also be sitting on the bus for a couple of hours as you get through all the drops whereas a direct transfer may take as little as twenty minutes.

Accommodation on Tenerife can again be found on the internet. There are accommodation search sites which will call up the details of all available hotels on your chosen dates. A little more research will find you plenty of reasonably priced apartments for rent. The larger resorts will have the greatest variety on offer. As an example, Playa de Las Americas is a lively resort where cheap holidays to Tenerife shouldn’t be hard to find.

Remember that self catering accommodation is often cheap to book but do allow plenty in your budget for food, something else to remember is that most apartments in Tenerife have hob style cookers but no ovens or grills, so meal preparation on a self catering holiday is limited.

There are many who travel for business purposes who, being driven by time and schedules, do not have the opportunity to look for cheap flights or to employ many money saving strategies. When travelling for fun, entertainment, or vacation, however, people do have options. The cost of airline travel today has become the major determinant as to when and where you take your next vacation. There are ways to save money, however. All it takes is a little extra time, patience, preparation, and common sense.

Don’t select an airline just because someone told you that they flew with them once and thought they were really great. Do your own research. Cheap flights are what you’re after. Check prices on the Internet. Use website like Priceline and Expedia to get prices and then compare their prices with the cost of making arrangements for the same flight directly with the airline.

Book your flight as far ahead as possible, at least one month ahead, but much sooner is better. Airlines, like all businesses, like to have a firm handle on projected income. When you book a flight early, they benefit and you get a lower price. Early booking can result in significant savings.

Try never to book a flight on a traditionally busy holiday or event weekends. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and spring break are typical examples of weekends during which airlines will demand their premium prices. Some travelers, who can afford time away from work, travel the weekend before the traditional holidays, and use the money saved to pay for the extra nights in a hotel.

Sometimes, getting cheap flights requires spending more time getting to your destination. Air travel that involves multiple interconnecting flights traditionally cost less than non-stop flights. The more interconnects the greater savings. Do your math, however, and make sure that boarding fees and luggage charges do not eat up the savings. Be flexible about schedule. Selecting a late-night or midweek flight can save and may also allow you to travel in an uncrowded aircraft.

Be thoughtful when packing your bags. Pack lightly. Airlines are beginning to charge for everything but the air that you breathe. Take only what you need. Find out if your hotel has a hair dryer, an iron, and an ironing board. Is there a radio in the room? Never bring anything with you that will be available when you get there.
Extra baggage can be very expensive, and baggage that is not with you always runs the risk of being lost. If you can manage with only a carryon bag, you’ll be way ahead of the pack with regards to cost and risk of loss.

While not recommended for a trip with a short stay at the destination, if you are planning on being away for some time, consider shipping your luggage on ahead by ground transport, as long as you have someone or an organization that you trust to mind them until you arrive.

One final strategy keeping cheap flights cheap, plan not to spend your hard earned cash on food and drinks served on the flight. Bring your own snacks. Why pay a premium for stale peanuts, when you can bring some fresh ones from home for only pennies. Be sure to bring a good book won’t be bored into the temptation of paying to watch an in-flight movie.
