Airport Meet and Greet Services

If you have a special holiday planned and you want to arrive at the airport in style then you might like to consider using a meet and greet service that will take care of your airport parking when you arrive at the airport.

A meet and greet service is designed to take the hassle out of your journey to the airport. The car park company will be able to provide you with a service that makes you feel like a VIP and is the perfect way to start off your holiday of a lifetime –it is a great choice for people who are on their honeymoon or about to take a cruise and want to start their trip off in style.

How Meet and Greet Parking Works
Once you have booked your meet and greet airport parking service all you need to worry about is turning up at the airport on time. You will be met at a prearranged place by your car park representative and they will then take your car from you and make sure that it is parked safely and securely in the car park. This means that you are free to leave your car and make your way straight to check in with your luggage. Many meet and greet services will meet you right at the terminal building itself so you will literally be able to drive right up to the door and walk into the check in queue.

As soon as you make your way into the terminal your car will be well taken care of and parked safely during the whole of your holiday. Then when you come home you will meet your driver outside the arrival building and then you can drive home without having to wait in the queue for the bus transfer to your car. This also saves you the hassle of having to remember where you have parked your car in the airport car park (where you run the risk of spending a long time walking round the carp park in search of your vehicle).

Many of the main airports in and around the UK offer this service for their customers and you will be able to finding it at Heathrow Parking, Gatwick Parking and Manchester Airport Parking.

This type of arrangement will cost you a little more money but it is worth spending a little extra cash as it takes away as much of the stress in getting to your destination as possible.

When you contact your airport parking provider make sure that you ask for their meet and greet service as sometimes they do get booked up (especially during peak holiday times).

Tips for Travelling around Ontario

Canada’s second biggest province is said by many to be its most beautiful.  With a population of 12 million spread over more than one million square kilometres there is boundless open spaces, including an incredible 250,000 lakes (one third of the world’s fresh water) a virtually untouched wilderness. This unspoilt natural environment is contrasted by Ontario being the home to Canada’s capital, Ottawa as well as its largest city, Toronto.

What to do…
Over 12 million visitors per year experience one of nature’s greatest spectacles, Niagara Falls and many adventurous spirits taste the thrill of white water rafting in the rivers of the surrounding region. Polar bears, otters, moose and wolves can be seen in the Arctic circle or spend time with indigenous Inuit people in Northern Ontario – who can take travellers sledging and fishing in the protected ancestral grounds. To the east of the province lays the astonishingly beautiful 1,000 islands where kayaking and cruising through the amazing lakes will provide memories to last a lifetime. The centre of Ontario is vast woodland with hiking, canoeing, climbing and caving all popular adventure sports.

Where to eat…

Ontario restaurants are at their most diverse and sophisticated in the largest city, Toronto. Outstanding establishments in Toronto include the hearty Kit Kat Bar and Grill, the Queen East Strip’s Joy Bistro, King West’s Crush Wine Bar and the internationally renowned Hilton Toronto.  One of North America’s most iconic buildings, the CN Tower houses the world-famous revolving, 360 Restaurant, which offers the most outstanding views of the city possible alongside its impressive fine dining menu with an excellent selection of wines. Outside the Toronto smaller cities generally have a good selection of reasonably priced North American as well as Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Indian and French restaurants.

Where to stay…
Accommodation in Ontario for most visitors starts and ends with Toronto. From $15 per person per night travellers can stay in shared accommodation in a backpacker hostel such as Hi-Toronto, Backpackers on Dundas and College Hostel. Mid-range options include staples like the Marriott and Holiday Inn as well as friendly B&B’s like Pimblett’s. High class hotels such as the four star Drake and Gladstone will cater for visitors in luxury style. Outside the major cities it is possible to stay in Inuit villages, Bear watching lodges in the far north, log cabins on the lakeside, self-catering cottage rentals, riverside fishing huts or simply camp anywhere in the wilderness of this huge and captivating Canadian province.

Getting Familiar with Travel Insurance

Many people are of the view that vacation or travel insurance is nothing but a rip-off. If you also think the same, consider this: Getaways don’t always go as you plan them, and if you have doubts about it, ask anyone waylaid by the Icelandic volcanic-ash cloud last year. You may have to suffer financial losses, but your travel coverage can soften the blow. A comprehensive package doesn’t cost you more than 4-8 percent of the total cost of the trip but reimburses you for unexpected medical emergencies, hotel stays, and charges for canceled or interrupted trips.

While it is true that getting a policy for routine or short-distance domestic travel doesn’t make a lot of sense, you should never go without it any time you need to prepay for travel services or make a big deposit of $1,000 or more.

By digging deeper into the details, you will come to know that there are different types of travel insurance policies available today. The most basic of them all is the one that you usually get with an airline policy. This is mainly for trip interruption or trip cancellation.  If due to some circumstances you have to cancel your trip, this particular policy pays you for nonrefundable, prepaid costs. There could be anything stopping you to continue with your trip. This may include death of a family member, subpoena to appear in court, jury-duty summons, layoff at work, or any other events beyond your control, like a terror attack or natural disaster. Not only this, baggage delays and travel delays are also included in this basic coverage. It is true that if you are buying a couple of plane tickets, it is quite tempting to skip paying a few extra bucks for insurance. But if you are planning more expensive trips, such as tour packages and cruises, it is worth taking out coverage for the peace of mind.

In addition to this basic coverage, there are some other types of travel insurance policies available for you to make a choice. For instance, you can get a medical/health policy to cover dental and medical expenses incurred because of some illness or injury. You don’t seem to have plans to fall into a sewer in Paris, but if you end up being there, you will be glad you had medical coverage.

It is important to point out that along with buying the basic or medical coverage, you can also put your money on medical evacuation coverage. This coverage comes in handy when you need to be transported to a hospital. If you are in a remote area and injure yourself while exploring the natural beauty, you may need a helicopter to get out of there. This could be an expensive proposition, but not really with medical evacuation coverage in place. You can include it under your basic medical coverage, or you can also purchase it as a stand-alone policy.

These are the most common types of travel insurance policies. Just spend some time to learn about all of them to make a right choice.
