Patience

patienceIt’s funny how the unexpected can always lead to a good outcome. While spending some time in Italy, I was staying at this hostel in Rome. It was pretty good. While on the way out to a pub crawl, there were some girls coming up the stairs to check into the hostel. My friend’s started talking to them. They were pretty cute after all. They wanted to come with us but it was already late and we were late to meet up with this pub crawl. My friend’s said we would wait. I wasn’t keen on the idea. I wanted to go. We were missing the action. There would be more girls at the pub crawl. No, no they insisted. The girls took forever. Eventually, they came out and we went to the pub crawl. We made it just in time. Over the course of the night, I got to talking to one of the girls we waited for. She was really cool, friendly, and smart.

We ended up traveling for two months together and still remain close. All because I waited. Patience is a virtue. On the road, go with the unexpected- you never know where it might lead.

Don’t Judge a Book by It’s cover

bookWhen I was in Belize, I was having a lot of fun. I meet lots of great people, I saw lots of cool things, and ate some really good food. It was a great time. I recommend that everyone should go to Belize. The people are really nice. While on Caye Caulker, some people I met suggested we go to eat at this place called wish willy’s. The restaurant was just a guys front lawn with benches to sit down. He grilled in the front yard and your menu was whatever he was cooking that day. That food was in some ice chests outside and the grill looked like the last time it was cleaned was when this island was still a British colony. I wasn’t happy. But I didn’t want to be a pain to my new friends and cause a scene. I played it safe and got the chicken. It was one of the best meals I had ever had. I went back the next day for more.

So don’t be afraid to try new things. You never know what you are missing by judging on appearances. I almost missed good food and you should never miss good food.
